Al has over 35 years of experience and has worked at Shell Oil Company as a geophysicist and as an engineer and manager at Hughes Aircraft, TRW, Martin Marietta, SAIC and the MITRE Corporation, a Washington DC Think Tank, as a consultant for Government agencies in software and systems engineering. His experience spans many disciplines: project planning and management, software engineering, system engineering, requirements engineering, design, coding, integration and test, configuration management, quality assurance, risk management, measurement and analysis, process improvement, etc.

He has made over 150 technical presentations at international conferences and seminars and has several publications in technical journals.  He also develops technical and management courses that he teaches at the MITRE Institute and has been a guest lecturer for John Hopkins University in graduate level systems engineering.
