As Director of the Colorado Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Task Force, I’ve been working with state legislators of both political parties to protect the electric grid and other critical infrastructure. For 38 years, I worked for the General Accounting Office (GAO) in information systems, critical infrastructure protection and financal management. This includes top secret cybersecurity audits of the classified and unclassified computer networks at Los Alamos National Laboratory. I authored the Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM). I wrote an audit report on critical infrastructure protection.
My experience also includes financial statement audits of the Air Force, Army and Navy. For example, my innovative work at Tooele Army Depot in Utah was featured on Prime Time with Sam Donaldson. I also studied renewable energy technologies and visited Federal geothermal facilities, wind farms and solar demonstration projects. My technical certifications… Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
I published my Masters Thesis on Federal water projects at Colorado State University. In addition, I manage my own marketing firm, lifetime member of the National Ski Patrol and I was past President of the Chatfield Toastmasters, and Vice President of the Trustees West Bowles Community Church.
